Ear X-Tacy Records

I'm originally from L.A., when i started to ask about record shops everyone mentioned ear x-tacy with such gusto that I expected to find music store mecca. Once I arrived I was somewhat let down, everyone I had spoken to stated that the store had a "huge" selection. If you're into rock, country, or rap/hip-hop you have a great selection, but as for anything outside of those labels there was much left to be desired, especially in their vinyl department. Despite the lack of variety the staff was very helpful, the store was well organized, and special orders were offered to be made for me, so I can't complain too much. If you have been to Amoeba Records in Hollywood or Berkley than you know what record store mecca is. I guess in that sense I'm just a little spoiled.

There is a reason this store is famous nationally for perpetuating the feel of a classic record store! Vinyl, CDs, t-shirts, novelties All here at respectable prices.

We love this store because they have everything. It is a very cool store to hang around in. The staff is great and they have a really cool upstairs. Their selection and prices are great. Parking is kind of hard to get on the weekends, but it's worth the walk. It's in a great area of the city and you can have a lot of fun there!

This is a great music store. They sell cds, tapes, dvds, videos, posters, and some music magazines. There selection is excellent. If you are looking for a cd, this place will probably have it. Be prepared to buy more then you are looking for. They have things you just cannot pass up. The employees are helpful and know a lot about all types of music. This place seems to get a lot of imports, so if you are looking for imports go to this store. The only problem with this store is some of the customers are loud and rude, but you can just ignore them. SInce place is located in a great area. There are many restaurants, shops, and churches in this part of town. They have a parking lot, but it is really small and fills up fast on weekends.

i love this place back when i was in high school this was definetly the cool place to hang out they are a little bit pricey but that is because they are an independent recording studio

They've been in business many years and have always been a favorite of the Bardstown Rd neighborhood.

They offer all kinds of music with a specialty for the alternative crowd. it's a great place to find rare imports that you may not know existed of popular bands. They also feature bands that you've probably never heard of but take a listen and your sure to find something you like.

They offer good parking and it's a hip and cool place and the people are friendly. If your into music and open to new things you may want to give this place a try.
